Watch the Boundary Points!

You must always be careful about boundaries when working with inequalities. After solving an inequality, your first step in checking should be the boundary. Remember to change the sign in your inequality to "equals". After being sure you have the correct boundary, check a second point that you think is in the solution set but this time use the original inequality.

You will be asked to show that you understand how to solve an inequality on entrance tests for high school.

Homework:
  1. Lesson 3-6, Applying
  2. LM 3-6, #4-9
  3. Study for a quiz on Lessons 3-4 through 3-6. It will take place at the end of class so you will be able to check all your homework and ask questions.
  4. The Lesson Master answer key is on the 7-8 Math page.

Options for Thursday

There are three areas on which you can work.
  1. AMC-8 test for those of you who did not spend any time on it last night
  2. Chapter 2 Test: Form D. This is an optional, extra credit (equal to a quiz grade) assignment and since you have unlimited time and a book, should earn you a very good grade. Be sure to show all work and write complete explanations, using proper English sentence structure and grammar, where appropriate.
  3. Review questions at the end of Chapter 2 in preparation for the test on Friday.
