Opposites

These properties can be confusing if you try to take shortcuts too soon. Be sure you memorize the properties and know when to use the word opposite.

  1. Hi Mrs. Burke!
I know somebody else already suggested this, but I was wondering if you could create more polls. They are really fun and I enjoy seeing what other students guess!
    Thanks

  3. I agree with numero9. I also thought that maybe we could have a poll box in the classroom, and we could make up math poll ideas & if you like them, you can put them on the blog :)

  5. Mrs Burke I have a question.
On the blog, I noticed that after the # of votes is stated, the percentage is shown. 90% of the students chose set-builder notation, and 9% chose roster notation... But what about the other 1%?

  11. Are we allowed to get rid of steps in the number puzzle quiz?

  12. You may eliminate steps but you must be sure that there are changes to the remaining steps.

Is everybody enjoying today off? I am at school and will be showing you some new ways of communicating.

I loved meeting your grandparents and yes, more polls will be coming.

  13. Mrs. Burke, I was watching the Today show at 9 this morning and the Guiness Book of World Records guy for fastest human calculator was on. He was amazing!!! He was saying that everything revolves around the numbers 0-9. and that 11- (1+1) = 9 and 12 - (1+2) = 9 and 13 - (1+3) = 9. I thought that was really cool. Also, he could solve I think 623 divided by 7 down to the 6th decimal place, which was more exact than the answer the Today show had in about 2 seconds!!! He could add four three digit numbers in his head in the matter of 5 seconds. It was crazy.
