Linear Inequalities

Last lesson in Chapter 6! The test is Friday.

To earn extra points on the quiz, bring a year and time for the men's Ironman World Triathlon in Hawaii. Any year and time from 1990 on will count for extra credit. Be sure you get an accurate time. You should convert the time to minutes (round to the nearest whole minute). Be careful when searching the Internet so that you have accurate data.

  3. I think she wants us to bring it in tomorrow, but Mrs. Burke, I corrected my point, and it changed my slope to -8.5 instead of -9, which changed my values and now i think they are a lot closer, so maybe i "won" the little contest :o I'll show you tomorrow.

  5. Try ironman.com... I used that and wiki to check eachother...
And Mrs. Burke, I checked my work and was able to prove my Linear Regression, and I think I am still the winner. :-D (I hope)

  6. i also went to ironman.com and found the 2007 results, does it matter if it is the womens time or mens time?

  7. I redid my slope equation and I got a squares of deviation closer to the squares of the line of regression.

  8. I think it has to be men's time

  9. I redid my slope and it changed it kind of alot, so now I'm even further away from the linear regression line:(

  10. You can bring the winning data on Friday. Just be sure you have it for the test. Caution on Wikipedia: check against another source.

I am still curious about Msmitty's regression. Be sure to show me your calculator tomorrow

  11. When i was doing the extra credit last night, i also used ironman.com and i found the time for 1989 and it was the same as the one given in our lesson master, so i think its at least somewhat accurate.. I did the time for 1991...
